INTRODUCING:
THE HARK ANGEL ART COLLECTIVE
The Hark Angel Art Collective is the latest project by natural wine maker from the Hunter Valley, Richie Harkham and founder of Harkham wine. Expanding upon his philanthropic endeavours through his not-for-profit, Hark Angel foundation (building schools in the poorest nations); this latest initiative came about during his recent visit to the Hark Angel school in Kenya.
Hark Angel & Harkham Wines are honored to be working alongside Uweza Art Gallery supporting artists living in one of the poorest slum cities of Africa called Kibera in Kenya. Home to over 250,000 people living in extreme poverty, Kibera provides young aspiring artists the gallery space, supplies, tools to create art and make a living off their incredible talent.
Harkham Wines is showcasing 10 original artworks in their cellar door which were created by the Uweza artists especially created for The Hark Angel Art Collective debut. The latest initiative supports our ongoing goal of bridging the gap between global poverty and the natural wine we make in the Hunter Valley. Not only are we bringing awareness to the slums of Kibera but we want to promote the incredible talent of these young artists, keep them off the streets and create a brighter future for themselves.
How the bidding works: The Hark Angel Art Collective artworks are showcased at the Harkham Cellar Door and could be yours to take home. Submit your bid at the Harkham Cellar Door or by filling out the form below.
Where is the money going? The profit from the auction of The Hark Angel Art Collective will be going back to the artist and supporting the initiative of the Uweza Gallery as well as funding the philanthropic work of the Hark Angel foundation where we are sponsoring over 15 at-risk children all over Kenya who would be forced to either enter the workforce full time or be married off at a young age.
The Winning Artist: The Uweza artist who wins the auction will be commissioned to redesign the logo for the Hark Angel line of wines at Harkham Wines. They will also be gifted 10% of the profits from the exhibition to help support them on their artist journey.
